I put this reminder all over my house 🤣

Lately, I’ve been finding myself in this weird cycle: I know what I should be doing, but instead of doing it, I find myself just thinking about it 🤣

And you know your girl loves to daydream about my future and all my dreams coming true, but in this context, the visualisation rule doesn’t quite apply.

So I’ve created a new nr. 1 rule for my life and put Post-its all over my home.

Cos, you know, I don’t do anything half-assed 🤣

My nr. 1 rule: don’t think about relaxing, actually do it.

I know this.

I teach this.

And yet, for some reason, I keep finding myself thinking about “relaxing my body” and “letting go”, without actually doing anything about it.

Yes, I can think, “relax the shoulders down,” and they’ll go down, but if they are tense because my nervous system is in fight-or-flight, they’ll be up by my ears in no time 🫣

I’ll never stop preaching it:

We can’t think ourselves back to a regulated, relaxed state.

And yet... why do I find it hard to do?

You know I’m not gonna leave you on a cliffhanger here, right? 🥹

I realised it doesn’t come without effort right now because it’s something new to me.

Like driving a car, remember?

The new neural pathways haven’t strengthened yet 🧬

And the old ones, the ones where I just “think” and don’t do, are still running the show.

But all it takes is repetition.

Each time I catch myself trying to think myself relaxed instead of getting into my body, taking deep, extended breaths, and then actually doing it, I’m reinforcing this new behaviour.

Rewiring.

Showing my nervous system a new way to react when I feel tense.

And like learning to drive, over time this, too, will become automatic and effortless 🥹

So then I asked myself,

"If I know that this is inevitable, and it just takes repetition, why am I stressing myself out about this?"

And this got me thinking...

If we believe something to be inevitable, and doable through repetition, why are we stressing about anything at all? 🙄

But that’s a conversation for another time 🥹

It was nice and short today, and I want to leave you with this:

What is something you have been thinking about, and not doing?

Maybe it's time to stop thinking about it, and take the first step. ❤️

With all my love,

Darja x

I’ve been in a bit of a funk this week 🥹 And it got me thinking about something I feel like we don’t talk about enough: What happens when life feels heavy, and you suddenly find yourself reaching for the old familiar ways of coping? The habits you’ve been trying to leave behind. The things you told yourself you were “done with.” The decisions you know don’t necessarily lead you where you want to go. Because when we’re overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or simply going through a heavier...

If you still believe that getting the promotion, earning X amount of money, getting married, having a baby, buying the house, moving to your dream country… …will suddenly make everything in your life better and make you magically happy, I'm here to deliver the bad news. Don't shoot the messenger 🫣 Those things can absolutely bring you joy. But they will never be able to take away the anxiety. The feeling that everything is on fire. The feeling of being pulled in 17 different directions at...

I noticed myself being more anxious these last couple of weeks. More than the usual ADHD anxious 🤭 And because I'm so deep in my self-development and healing in this cycle of life, it was quite noticeable for me. So I did what I always do when I notice myself feeling more anxious: I started paying attention to my thoughts. Because from my experience, if you want to get to the bottom of why you're feeling anxious, one of the best places to start is by noticing your thought patterns. Our...
