I feel like we’ve been sold a version of growth that sounds good… but keeps us stuck.
“Become your higher self.”
“Step into your next level.”
“Act like the version of you who already has it.”
And yes — I’ve said all of this too 🥹
But here’s what I keep seeing, in myself and in so many of my clients:
We try to become this new version of us.
We show up differently, think differently, act differently…
and for a while, it works.
Until we became overwhelmed by life's demands, and we unconsciously fall back into old patterns, old reactions, old habits…
And this is the part no one really talks about...
It’s not actually about becoming someone new.
It’s about unbecoming.
Letting go of all the emotions you’ve suppressed over the years, and everything that is subconsciously attached to them — all the fears, the beliefs, the stories, the perceptions…
And when you try to force yourself into a new identity, without letting them go first...
Of course it feels like you’re pushing, going against the grain.
It’s like trying to install a Microsoft operating system on a MacBook — two completely different systems.
And that’s where I’m inviting you to gently start questioning what you’ve been taught.
We’ve been raised in a patriarchal system that rewards pushing, forcing, proving, and disconnecting from our emotions. Only anger seems to be accepted — and even then, mostly in men 🤦‍♀️
"Work harder. Do more. Be more disciplined."
So I get it if a part of you is like:
“How is feeling something going to get me closer to my dream life?”
But just because we believe something… doesn’t make it true.
We’ve been taught that working harder leads to more success, and that pushing through is the only way.
But the world is changing. And we’re starting to see more and more proof of a different way.
A way that isn’t built on constant self-sacrifice and survival.
A way where you’re not just a worker in the system… but a creator of your own reality.
And from that place — it’s not about doing more.
It’s about creating safety in your body. Finding stillness, and letting go of what you’ve been holding onto.
Because when those emotions move…the fears, the beliefs, the thoughts attached to them start to lose their grip too.
And that is where the true transformation happens...
Not from conscious force, but from an unconscious shift, from expanded capacity.
You just… start to make different decisions. You respond differently to stress in your life.
Things that used to feel overwhelming start to feel neutral… sometimes even easy.
And you might even catch yourself thinking, “why didn’t I do this before?”
That’s the becoming part. And it happens as a result of letting go.
Not forcing. Not grinding. And definitely not by trying to become someone you’re not yet ready to hold.
Life isn’t meant to feel like constant effort.
And if it does… maybe it’s not because you’re doing too little.
Maybe it’s because you haven't let the old version go yet.
If you feel a nudge…
I have 2 spots open for 1:1 coaching for May.
This is exactly what we go into — safely, deeply, and in a way that actually creates real change.
