What if you stopped making everything so hard? đź‘€

POV: reprogramming my nervous system because I was raised being told I have to work hard for everything I want.

I posted this POV on TikTok recently and got sooo many DMs asking me:

“Okay but HOW do you actually do that?” 👀

And honestly, I love this question.

Because it’s one thing to understand that your nervous system, beliefs and subconscious patterns influence how you show up in life…

And another thing to actually start changing them in your everyday life.

So I thought this week, instead of giving you another deep dive into the neuroscience behind it, I’d give you a few things you can actually TRY.

Nothing complicated. Nothing that requires 2 hours of meditation and a crystal collection 🤣

Just small things I’ve been doing myself.

1. Notice your automatic thoughts.

This one is probably my favourite.

Whenever I catch myself thinking something like:

“I need to work harder.”

“I can’t afford that.”

“I’m not ready yet.”

“I should be doing more.”

I pause and ask myself:

“Is this actually true?”

Because 99% of the time, I realise I’m looking at the present moment through an old belief or fear. And awareness is where the change starts.

2. Do something before you feel ready.

Your old patterns will often tell you that you need to think about it more, prepare more, figure all the steps out first.

So this week, notice one thing you’ve been overthinking and take ONE tiny action towards it.

Send the message.

Post the thing.

Apply.

Ask.

Book the trip.

Whatever it is.

You’re showing your brain that you can do things without having the whole picture. That's reprogramming.

3. Keep one tiny promise to yourself every day.

This one has been HUGE for me lately.

Choose something ridiculously easy and do it.

Not because you need to be more disciplined or productive.

But because every time you tell yourself you’re going to do something and then actually do it, you’re building self-trust.

And self-trust creates safety.

You’re teaching your system, that if something unexpected comes up in your life, you'll be there to handle it.

And this is POWERFUL.

4. Give yourself a moment of stillness.

And I mean ACTUAL stillness.

No phone.

No podcast.

No scrolling.

No “productive” meditation where you’re trying to "fix yourself."

Just sit.

Look out of the window.

Go for a walk without listening to anything.

Lie on your bed for 5 minutes.

And just notice what comes up.

Because when we’re constantly consuming, doing and thinking, we don’t get to hear ourselves.

And your intuition is a lot easier to hear when there’s actually some silence 🤭

5. Let yourself feel something instead of immediately doing something about it.

This one has probably changed my life the most.

Notice when you feel uncomfortable and instead of immediately distracting yourself, fixing it, analysing it or pushing it away…

Pause.

Where do you feel it in your body?

Chest? Throat? Belly? Shoulders?

And can you stay with the sensation for a little while?

You don’t need to know WHY you feel it.

You don’t need to solve it (escaping from the feelings back to your mind).

Just let yourself feel it.

And I think this is the part that gets missed when we talk about “reprogramming” ourselves.

It’s not one big breakthrough.

It’s all these tiny moments where you do something differently.

You notice the old thought > You question it.

You feel the emotion instead of running from it.

You keep a promise to yourself.

You choose rest instead of pushing.

You take the next step even when you don’t know what happens after that.

Over and over and over again.

And slowly, what once felt uncomfortable starts to feel normal.

That’s the reprogramming.

That’s how you become the version of you who naturally thinks, acts and responds differently.

So this week, don’t try to change your whole life.

Pick ONE of these.

Try it for a few days.

And notice what happens. đź‘€

Because you might be surprised how much can start shifting when you stop trying to force yourself into a new version of you…

…and start giving your brain and nervous system new experiences to learn from.

Until next week ❤️

With all my love,

I’ve been in a bit of a funk this week 🥹 And it got me thinking about something I feel like we don’t talk about enough: What happens when life feels heavy, and you suddenly find yourself reaching for the old familiar ways of coping? The habits you’ve been trying to leave behind. The things you told yourself you were “done with.” The decisions you know don’t necessarily lead you where you want to go. Because when we’re overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or simply going through a heavier...

If you still believe that getting the promotion, earning X amount of money, getting married, having a baby, buying the house, moving to your dream country… …will suddenly make everything in your life better and make you magically happy, I'm here to deliver the bad news. Don't shoot the messenger 🫣 Those things can absolutely bring you joy. But they will never be able to take away the anxiety. The feeling that everything is on fire. The feeling of being pulled in 17 different directions at...

I noticed myself being more anxious these last couple of weeks. More than the usual ADHD anxious 🤭 And because I'm so deep in my self-development and healing in this cycle of life, it was quite noticeable for me. So I did what I always do when I notice myself feeling more anxious: I started paying attention to my thoughts. Because from my experience, if you want to get to the bottom of why you're feeling anxious, one of the best places to start is by noticing your thought patterns. Our...
